Here's how DHS says it will work: The Global Entry pilot project allows pilot participants expedited entry into the United States at any of the designated port locations by using automated kiosks located in the Federal Inspection Services (FIS) area of each airport. Hi, I was in India when my husband applied for my H1B in 2008. I got it picked in lottery and got the approval too. I came to US on H4. After Oct 1st 2008, we applied for Change of Status to H4 to legally complete the work permit process. In the Change of Status applicatin form, my company accidently did a mistake of mentioning that Current status=H1B, New status required=H1B. :mad: USICIS, on seeing the application, took a decision to give me H4 with new I-94. I tried calling the USCIS helpdesk, but in vain. :confused:
1) Now what should I do to start working in H1B?
2) Was I correct in ging throughChange of Status? Or could I start working with the approval copy I had?
3) Could I apply for SSN with the 2008 approval copy?
Any answers would be greatly apprrciated!. Thanks in advance........

Hello gang! I have a quick question! Has anyone had issues with the prevailing wage being too low? The attorneys requested the prevailing wage from the SWA and it came back really high twice, so they then submitted a private wage survey that my company conducted with a reputable firm and it was rejected. The attorneys have said that they will now appeal the case directly to DOL. Has anyone had to go through this? If so, how long does appealing to DOL take? And, any info on success rate with the appeals to DOL?
Any info would be extremely appreciated! Thanks in advance guys!! :)

My cousin from India has a BCOM degree and he is filing for a H1 B visa.
He just heard from his lawyer 2 days ago that his credit evaluation was needed and he had to get experience letters for atleast 3 years of work ex.
He gave it to his lawyer and now they tell him that they will submit his application without the evaluation! They said that once an inquiry comes if it even does then we will submit the evaluation.
Is that ok??? or should he be submitting the evaluation with the application. I am concerned but I guess it too late now.

Hi all,
Looks like our company is going to merge with another company in the next 2 weeks and the name is going to change ... I am not sure about Tax-id ....
I filed 485 during the July 2007 rush and had I-140 approved in May 2007. I am currently on H1 expiring in Sep 08 .. I sent the papers to the lawyer for extension last week with the current company's documents ... not sure if they applied yet ...
So my questions are:
a) Do I need to do an I-140 Amendment for sure ... (or) can I use AC-21
b) Any risks associated with I-140 Amendment? If something bad happens to the Amendment, Can I still use the priority date (Dec 2006) ...
c) Should I file for H1B Amendment also

My spouse H4 extension was filed in Jan 2011 and I was under impression that receipt is with lawyer. But recently I came to know that it should come to my address, as of today we have not got receipt no. I am still waiting for H1 approval decision and know H1 receipt no.
Is there way for us or our lawyer to get receipt no. for my spouse's H4 application?

I've got some questions/comment to understand your situation
1. How do you know it is stuck in security check? What is your attorney's suggestion
For regular EB applications you can apply for 485 when priority date is current
2. EAD is generally adjudicated within 90 days
3. She should have a visa of her own - if she cannot be your dependant
