I think it is the perspective that has changed. Until 2 years back we were ready to die to live in this country, we thought our country was crowded, polluted etc. etc. Things haven't changed much there. It's still same, criminals are still the most powerful, power, food & Shelter is still scarce, poor count hasn't decreased. It's just we are not seeing now 'the dark side of the moon'. There's no doubt our American dream is screwed up big time. We have ruined the best times in our lives. Out of these 1 million Visa holders, 1000's would have been entrepreneurs, artists, etc. etc. but this green card chase has beaten us down to H1B Visa holder forever.

There is no doubt about NRIs are the prime reason for the real estate boom in India. It is tottally unbelivable that 2 bedroom flat in a normal second class town has gone to up to 40 lakes. Decent independent houses are in terms of crores in small cites. Two factors. One is foreign money and second in black money from local dadas/politicians. Also demand vs supply. The availble land is small and demand for that land is too high due to these two gropus.
I visited one of my NRI friends house in India, where he is not going to live as he is a US citizen. His parents already won two houses and they bought another house as a investment. This house in a recent development area in a small town where there is no high tech employment is avialable; In my feeling it may not worth 5 lakes; they were selling at 45 lakes. Even if anyone ready to pay 45 lakes there is no unit is avialable; everything was sold to NRIs. No resident won the houses in that area. All the dads and mos are baby sitting the houses. Renting alos not that easy. It is tottally unbelivable. I wonder why all the NRIs buying house in India and increisng the house price? The guys working here (or any part of the world) and not going to live in India, why government should allow to buy the house and increse the price? Everyone tries to do real estate bussiness there. That is the main reason for price increase.
Is is sad. All these NRIs are going to learn a very valuable lesson. Speculation is not a good strategy for investing. A lot learned that in the past few months here in USA. In a year we will be seeing the full blown post bubble correction in India. If one can rent an apartment for 15,000 why would one buy it for 50 lakhs. The interest alone on 50 lakhs is 50,000 every month. It is like buy and rent it and loose money. Instead why don't they deposit in a bank and get 50,000 every month:confused:

I had an email conversation with my lawyer regarding 180 day portability.
She said that the count for 180 days should begin with notice date for safe side.
However the count begins with Receipt Date which is a day or 2 off from the actual application receive date (mail received date).
This is what i got from my lawyer.

I couldn't agree more, how come any immigration rules in britan should have any thing do with USCIS ? any time we have a problem with USCIS or in general US policy there are few people who want to jump in and comapre the rules and other stuff with rest of the world. Since we are trying to address I-140 delays in general at TSC and NSC, can we just send a general letter to Ombudsman's office without specifying our case and DHS Form 7001 ?
This way it will turn out to be a letter campaign.

Well if u r a paying customer, u didn't like the product that u bought. Forget it and move on and u knew b4 buying that its non-refundable and cannot be taken back whether u like it or not. Before buying the product u very well knew what u were buying dint u? So live with it. :D

If you pay for something and get a lemon you might be ok with living with it and moving on, saying its non-refundable. Many others dont share that view. They'll fight for a replacement, a fix, some solution to the problem.
If all you can do is bend over, then move on, you are wasting your time on IV.

I came here at an old age compared to most of you on this forum. Now I have two kids in college and a third one waiting to enter next year. This is my sixth year here and I have no immediate plan of returning to my home country.
Having a GC will ease the financial burden of seeing my kids through college. Thereafter, we plan on starting a family business that will export technology to my home country (all my sons are studying computer engineering) where opportunities are increasingly available for such ventures.
My wife and I plan to retire and go back home (by which time I hope we would be US citizens). Towards that end we are building our retirement home in Nigeria. As for my sons, I have given up hope that they will ever return to Nigeria to live!
I have two brothers who are already US citizens and have filed for our parents so I don't miss being with my parents as they come and go as they wish.

Not that I say we need change, but this is a public organization. Everyone has a right to call for election. There is nothing wrong.
Only issue is, whoever wants to contest has to come out with public profile as mentioned by someone before. There are only few people who are openly public and with known real identity on this forum - thats sad!

Guys..I just recieved my I-140 approval..last week..shocked, surprised..but trust me..this works..hope some people remember about a similar campaign I had initiated a while back..I sent letters to Zoe Lofgren, Ombudsman, USCIS director and Ted Kennedy..apart from contacting my local congressman...
