Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that my EB3 I-140 got approved today. I am a July 2007 concurrent filer. This wait has been frustrating and I've had to let many good opportunities pass by. I had, in the last 2 months, opened 2 service requests. I am not sure if they did the jobor may be the time has come when we will see July approvals coming in hordes.

started GC process in sept 2002 after 2001 recession
hanged on the small employer to keep the priority date

Just dropped a check for $5. I hope all of the remaining members do the same.
Mailing a check is just as good as a bill pay.
For those who are unaware as to what the "Bill Pay" option is, basically the Bill pay option is a great way to take advantage of your bank cutting a cheque as opposed to you cutting a cheque. That way you can write cheques without having to:
1) Actually write out a cheque
2) Spend money to post it (and take the extra effort to mail the cheque out).
Keep the contributions flowing.
Mailing a check is just as good as a bill pay.

but my Licences expires on Sept 2008, So I will I be just getting the extension till Sept 2008 and Not 3 year extension.
That just sounds ridiculous... what does your driver's license have to do with your H1B extension?
It's true that the length of your H1 extension determines the validity of your DL i.e. if you get an extension until 2010 the DMV will only issue a DL valid till 2010, but the opposite is not true, unless we're living in the Twilight Zone.

I don't think so. Eventhough they make U in september bulletin. They have to move dates in October bulletin because of new visa numbers.
I can understand the excitement. I am also in EB2 2005 PD. But the fact is that, this seems like a temporary movement only...i don't think dates can stay at 2006, going by simple math.
PPl can give me those red marks, but i think dates will retrogress again by Oct.

Like many others I have been following IV since July 2nd. Post July 17th reversal, just like everybody else I was tracking 485 receipts. I did make a promise to myself to contribute to IV once I get the receipts. That's the least I can do. I would have loved to go to DC on the 18th but unfortunately wouldn't be able to make it due to family reasons.

Here is how I came up with that analysis. Last year they made changes to give GC for those stuck in FBI name check if they passed 180 days. So most of the ROW got their GC last year. There were not many labors approved from 2008. So there is no demand from EB2 ROW this year. With the economy going down, not many would get EB1s either. I don't anticipate many EB5s either this year. So major chunk of EB visas will need to come to EB2I/C. Will CIS do that or not is a different story.

It is time now we ask USCIS about this information. More than DOS or DOL it is the USCIS who has all this information in their bags like how many applications they have from high chargeability countries, of which year and which categories. So we stop predicting and be ready for the real....
With all the revenue and system they have, do you think this is so tough to streamline? I doubt.
They can, at the minimum, have the cases in sequence, process per FIFO, control PD movements logically. The minimum they can do, easily.

Your situation is similar to mine and I am sure lot more IVans are going thru the same.
I am in US for 10 years on H1b + EAD, and almost every day I attempt to weigh my options. It gets even tempting for people from India and other similar economies where finding a job is now piece of cake (for skilled worker). I also got carried away with American Dream and got into cars, house etc. assuming Legal Immigration is a sure shot in the land of opportunity, its just matter of time due to slow process but once you are in the line you are pretty much set. But now after so many years, situation doesn't looks that promising, especially after leaving what we had backhome, missing opportunities that other who-stayed have enjoyed, and now tempted to leave what we have build in US, brings me to square one. But I must solidify my ground before moving forward, and hence as long as I have job and I am confident that I will have a job no matter how bad economy turns, I will keep serving this country, and when I find that I have to make unreasonable sacrifices I will quit and happily goto any other booming economy, it could be India, Brazil, or any other country but with solid PR prospects, where I don’t have to giveup my career advancements, and I can plan for long term.

:(Bad News is all of us who applied for EAD renewal after June 30th wouldnt get a 2 years EAD instead would get 1 year EAD.

Not really, without a mass enquiry, it is useless. USCIS will simply return my package and then will have NO reference to go by. I was actually pushing quite hard for a Bigger enquiry.

Bad news unless they allow mass conversion of TR applications into non-RIR. Imagine they took two years to get rid of 220,000 easier applications (2005 and 2006). Now they are left with some of the old TR applications and they must be thinking of how to meet the September deadline. I would not be surprised if they ask for an extension, citing processing difficulties.

It is true that a lot of the members signed up just so that they can follow the happenings, and maybe post an immediate question that they might have. We may have a huge membership base, but without any action from such a base can make any plan from the core a failure. What we need to do is to energize the baselevel members. The senate is comprised of senators from our respective states, and the house has reps from each state. We have individual state chapeters for IV. I think the Core will need to plan out a strategy to help the state chapters approach their senators and house reps, while the core concentrates on contacting the DoJ committees. Meeting a few senators here and there will not help. We need to contact ALL the senators and apprise them of the situations. Rather than have a different message sent to each senator, the core will need to define an agenda, and the communication needed. The state chapters will need to take that and follow up with their respective senators and reps, without diluting any of the messages. Having the core meet all the senators is not proper, we need to pitch in too. Unless we work as a team, nothing that the core has planned will work.
I was/am a member in immigration.com where all the talk of starting this forum happened. I have interacted with the core on many occassions before, and I was also one of the first to join this community. But work and family pressures prompted me to stay away, and in the meantime, my handle and password were forgotten. I had to resign up, and what I find today is that there is no understanding between the members. Be thankful that this forum was set up, and contribute positively in any way you can. Without your support, the core cant do it all. Lets stop worring about donations and membership fees. We are all intelligent, and highly paid. We have the brains to talk to senators and house reps. Lets move forward to get at least piecemeal legislations passed. Lets not wait for CIR. CIR is not going to happen, so dont believe in it.

I checked 2007 return and it has only 100K asset. I am not sure we accumulated 350K since then. I think you got confused with revenue vs. cash on hand / asset.
